MA001 – Aux Orchidees Desk and Armchair
This is a mahogany desk and armchair from the Art Nouveau period, made of gilt and chased bronze. Similar examples can be found
at the musée d’Orsay and in Ferdinand Neess’ collection at the Wiesbaden Museum. The artist was Majorelle Louis (1859-1926).
The desk and armchair are part of the Société des Artistes Décorateurs exhibition in Paris.

MA005 – Berce Des Pres Ladies Desk
The desk, titled “Les Ombellules,” was a popular design by Emile Gallé during the Exposition Universelle of 1900. It features exotic
marquetry inlaid wood with botanical decor and a key in gilt bronze. The desk was acquired by the former owner at a public auction
in the 1950/1960s from the Salle des Ventes Santé Frères et Cie in Pau. The desk was later renamed “Les Ombellules” by the
French government in 1970.
